Skin

2. Try and drink 6 to 8 glasses of water per day. This will help to keep your skin moist, refreshed and supple, which will help the skin fight off developing wrinkles and blemishes.

3. Moisturize! Applying moisturizer after a warm face wash or a warm shower is the best remedies for skin. Moisturizing helps to restore the oils that our skin has and helps to keep the skin hydrated. Moisturizing for men is just as important as the oils in men's skin can be lost more easily than those in women.

4. Protect yourself from sun and tanning studio's. The sun and tanning studio's are the main reasons for premature aging. By applying self tan spray or keeping your face well protected from UV rays can help to prevent premature aging.

5. Keep up regular exercise. Regular exercise helps to keep the skin elasticity which prevents wrinkles. Exercise is also good for your body as a whole as it helps to maintain a low amount of body fat.

6. Taking vitamins and minerals helps to keep goodness in the skin. Vitamins and minerals have been developed to help your body. By taking one multivitamin can help to keep your skin fresh and clean.

7. Try and maintain a constant sleep pattern. Sleep is the body's time to restore itself and to re-energies the body's organs and skin. By maintaining a regular sleep pattern, you will feel more energized and your skin will become more healthy and fresher looking.

8. Do not scrub and wash too hard. By doing this it removes the required oils that the skin needs to regenerate. When washing, wash lightly and in circular motion. This helps to keep the blood flow in your skin and does not allow the essential oils to escape.

9. Do not squeeze spots. Although very tempting, by squeezing spots and black heads, the disease spreads and your acne will not disappear. By not squeezing your skin can heal the spot on its own and scars will not be formed. Constant squeezing of spots will cause scarring of the skin.

10. Finally, the most important thing you can do to help achieve, younger healthier looking skin is to stop smoking or never to start. Smoking causes premature aging and yellowing of the teeth and skin. The tobacco that is released into the air dries out your skin, while the smoke you inhale constricts the flow of blood to blood vessels, therefore preventing your skin of essential nutrients that your body supplies.

How Black Women Can Grow Long, Healthy Hair

I first started learning about proper black hair care in October of 2005 after reading the book, Ultra Black Hair Care Growth by Cathy Howse. That book started me on an eye-opening journey towards learning about why I could never grow my then ear-length and damaged hair past neck length.

The first thing most Black women do wrong when it comes to taking care of their hair is that they do not moisturize often enough or use the right products to moisturize with. Black hair is naturally the driest kind of hair there is because the curl pattern makes it difficult for sebum to nourish the entire hair strand. Therefore, we must add extra moisture. The best moisturizers for black hair list water or glycerin as the first ingredient. For example, I personally use Nexxus Headress Weightless Leave-in Conditioner. In general, hair grease products that contain petroleum or mineral oil as the first ingredient should be avoided because they do not moisturize, but instead merely coat the hair strands and block the pores of the scalp, causing buildup and attracting dirt.

Moisturizer

The subject of dirt brings me to the next thing that black women are doing wrong when caring for their hair--they do not wash their hair often enough. A lot of black women I know (and I used to be one of them), will only wash their hair once a month because they believe the myth that water dries their hair out even more and that frequent washing causes damage. This isn't true. Water is the best moisturizer of all moisturizers, but when you simply let the hair dry without putting anything onto the hair to keep the moisture in, all the moisture evaporates into the air, leaving your hair even drier than it was before you washed it. You must add a moisturizer, followed by an oil (I use Olive Oil mostly, but there are hundreds of oils you can use!) before drying your hair to keep moisture in and avoid dryness. I wash my hair about once a week. Some black women wash their hair every day or every other day and it is long, healthy and strong. By the way, air drying is best for black hair because of the third and final topic I will discuss.

Excessive heat is another huge reason black women have damaged hair. Blow dryers, curling irons, flat irons and hot combs make the dryness in our hair worse and causes breakage and damage. The less heat and manipulation you put your hair through, the better it will look! There are many alternatives to using heat on your hair like rollers, wrapping, and air drying.

By following these and other Black hair care techniques, my hair is now almost arm pit length--the longest (and healthiest) it has ever been in my life!

Get Healthy and Young-Looking Skin the Natural Way

How we look and how we project ourselves to other people has suddenly become at the top of our priority. Even the busiest of people now take the time to make themselves look good. This should be an answer to the fast and aggressive lifestyle we are living today because if we will not keep up with this kind of lifestyle, we will surely look older than our real age.

It is not at all difficult to look younger as there are a lot of natural ways for you to do so. You can even have the ingredients in your pantry. Here are a few methods you can try at home:

Moisturizer

Lemon Juice With Brown Sugar For A Facial Scrub

To get rid of ashy-looking skin, slough off dead skin cells by concocting a special facial scrub. Get one teaspoon of brown sugar and put a few drops of lemon juice just to moisten it. The granules of brown sugar will unseat the dirt deep in your pores and lemon juice will help brighten it, reduce blemishes such as age spots and diminish fine lines. This method will give you instant soft skin that is much like a baby's.

Egg White With A Splash of Lemon Juice

Separate egg white from its yolk and use the egg whites to get rid of wrinkles. It provides a tightening effect on the face. If you are feeling a bit adventurous, you can throw in lemon juice again for a skin brightening effect.

Honey Facial Mask

A super hydrating mask can give you younger-looking skin in no time. Honey can be slathered all over your face. It helps infuse moisture in your pores and make it softer. It also gets rid of impurities and bacteria that usually cause the appearance of pimples. And since honey is a bleaching agent, it has the natural ability to reduce age spots.

After all these methods are done, you can follow it up with a very effective moisturizer. An effective one should consist of only natural ingredients. You can look for ingredients such as CynergyTK, Phytessence Wakame and Nano Lipobelle HEQ10.

CynergyTK works well in replenishing lost keratin which is responsible in triggering the healthy production of collagen and elastin. This is derived from the wool of sheep and clearly a novelty idea you should try. Phytessence Wakame is a sea kelp that helps prevent the loss of hyaluronic acid. With more hyaluronic acid in the body, you can look younger longer. Nano Lipobelle HEQ10 is an antioxidant that gets rid of harmful free radicals even at the deepest parts of the skin.
